Russell qualified as a solicitor in 1986 and became a partner at Heringtons Solicitors in 1989. He remained there until May 2014 when he joined our team at Gledhill Gill Solicitors.
Russell has been practicing Mental Health law for the last 25 years, initially representing patients also charged with criminal offences. Russell acquired his Higher Rights of Advocacy (Criminal) in 2004.
Russell was appointed as a part time Mental Health Tribunal Judge in 2002 and continues to sit regularly in the First Tier Tribunal. He has also been a member of the Law Society Mental Health Panel since 1999.
Russell sits as a Costs Adjudicator for the Legal Aid Agency and as an Assessor for the Law Society Mental Health Panel since 2012.
