Russell Parkes – Consultant Solicitor

  • Russell qualified as a solicitor in 1986 and became a partner at Heringtons Solicitors in 1989. He remained there until May 2014 when he joined our team at Gledhill Gill Solicitors.
  • Russell has been practicing Mental Health law for the last 25 years, initially representing patients also charged with criminal offences. Russell acquired his Higher Rights of Advocacy (Criminal) in 2004.
  • Russell was appointed as a part time Mental Health Tribunal Judge in 2002 and continues to sit regularly in the First Tier Tribunal. He has also been a member of the Law Society Mental Health Panel since 1999.
  • Russell sits as a Costs Adjudicator for the Legal Aid Agency and as an Assessor for the Law Society Mental Health Panel since 2012.
  • Russell is a member of the MHLA
